
Hello everyone happy xmas and a happy new year, just a quick blog post today for a super easy fruit scone recipe!
This recipe makes 8 good size scones
Ingredients
220 grams self raising flour
40 grams of butter
1 and half tablespoons golden caster sugar
125ml milk
pinch of salt
25grams raisins
1 whisked egg for washing
You also need a mixing bowl
a 68mm cookie cutter
and a large baking tray
Step one
Preheat oven to 220c
Put the flour and sugar and a pinch of salt in the mixing bowl. Next cut the butter into tiny slices put it into the bowl and mix everything with your fingers until it resembles bread crumbs.

Pour in the milk and mix again with your fingers. Try not to overwork the dough and you want it to end up looking like this.

Put the dough onto a floured work surface and roll it to about 3cm thick and cut 8 rounds and pop them onto a baking tray.

Lightly egg wash the top of each scone and pop in the oven for 13 mins.

take them out of the oven to cool and put butter jam or clotted cream on them and enjoy!
